FAQ
common questions
What's the difference between Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology & Strength & Conditioning?
Physiotherapy, exercise physiology and strength and conditioning coaches all exist to improve physical health and function. At Movement Essentials, we work collaboratively to distinguish which practitioner is best suited to your needs, goals and current circumstances to partner with you to achieve your movement goals. In the capacity of movement, all 3 disciplines have the capacity to use movement to help with pain and improve physical capacity. The distinct differences between the three are: physiotherapists can diagnose, and have hands-on treatment approaches in addition to exercise, whilst exercise physiologists and strength and conditioning coaches rely on exercise and movement. Strength and conditioning coaches work more with either performance or in general public who seek to be stronger, whereas exercise physiologists have extensive knowledge in medical and health conditions and how to effectively manage them through exercise.
